Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Replic Discord bot (the “Bot”) and this website collect, why, and what control you have over it. “Replic”, “we” and “us” refer to the Replic team.
We built Replic to collect as little as possible. The Bot connects to Discord with only the basic Guilds gateway intent and uses no privileged intents — it cannot see message content, member lists or presence.
What we collect
When you create a backup
Running /backup create saves a snapshot of the server’s structure to our database, linked to your
Discord account:
| Data | Details | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your user ID | The Discord ID of the account that created the backup. | So only you can list, load or delete it. |
| Server info | Server ID, name, icon image and settings (verification level, notification and content-filter settings, AFK and system channel). | To rebuild the server and show you which backup is which. |
| Roles | Names, colours, permissions and display settings. | To recreate them when you load the backup. |
| Channels | Categories and channels with their names, types, topics, settings, forum tags and role permission overwrites. | To recreate the server layout. |
| Emojis & stickers | Emoji IDs and names; sticker names, descriptions, tags and image links. The images themselves are not stored. | To re-add them when you load the backup. |
| Metadata | Backup ID, creation time, and counts of roles, channels, emojis and stickers. | For /backup list and /backup info. |
When you clone or upload emojis and stickers
The image is downloaded from Discord (or from your upload), sent straight back to Discord to create the emoji or sticker in your server, and then discarded. We don’t keep a copy.
While the Bot is running
Like every Discord bot, Replic receives basic information from Discord about the servers it’s in and the commands you run (such as server, channel and user IDs, and the options you typed). This is processed in memory to answer your command — for example, to apply cooldowns — and isn’t stored. If a command fails, a technical error log may briefly record details such as IDs to help us fix the problem.
What we don’t collect
- Message content, attachments or message history;
- Member lists, nicknames, member roles or bans;
- Permission overwrites for individual members;
- Presence, activity, voice or location data;
- Email addresses, passwords, payment details or Discord tokens.
How we use data
We use the data above only to:
- Provide the features you ask for — creating, listing, loading and deleting backups, and cloning emojis and stickers;
- Keep backups private to the account that made them;
- Prevent abuse, enforce limits and our Terms of Service;
- Fix bugs and keep the Service running.
We process this data because it’s necessary to provide the Service you requested, and for our legitimate interest in keeping it secure and working. We never sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Retention & deletion
- Backups are kept until you delete them. Run
/backup deleteat any time — deletion is immediate and permanent. - Removing the Bot from a server doesn’t delete your backups of it, so you can still restore them later. Delete them yourself if you no longer need them.
- Cooldowns and command data live only in memory and disappear within minutes.
- Error logs are kept only as long as needed to fix problems.
Want everything gone at once? Ask in our support server and we’ll delete all backups linked to your account.
Security
Backups are stored in a private database that only the Replic service can access, and every backup command checks that you own the backup before showing or changing it. Backup IDs are random, and loading a backup always requires your confirmation. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and will act promptly if something goes wrong.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU and UK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data, and to object to or restrict how we process it. Most of this you can do yourself:
- See your data:
/backup listand/backup info; - Delete your data:
/backup delete, or ask us to delete everything; - Anything else — such as a full export of a backup — ask us in the support server.
We’ll respond within 30 days. To protect your data, we may ask you to confirm you own the Discord account first. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and fonts are served from our own domain. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) for a short time for security and reliability.
Team member avatars on the Team page are loaded from Discord’s image servers, so Discord receives your IP address when that page loads. Links to Discord and other services are covered by their own privacy policies.
Children
Replic is meant for people who meet Discord’s minimum age (13 in most countries). We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has used Replic, contact us and we’ll delete their backups.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date above, and announce significant changes in our support server before they take effect.
